A free alternative to DataFeedWatch for feed checks

DataFeedWatch builds, optimises and syncs product feeds to dozens of channels, from $64/month. Shipwork does not manage feeds; it checks them — free — for the fields Merchant Center rejects, including GTIN, category and condition.

One crawl of a bounded sample of public pages, from outside your network. Nothing is stored.

What DataFeedWatch does well

DataFeedWatch is feed operations: it maps and transforms attributes, syncs to many channels on a schedule, and optimises titles and categories at scale. If you run many channels and need the feed managed, that is a different job from checking it, and it is worth the money.

Where a feed manager stops

It is about producing and syncing the feed, not auditing the live store. It does not tell you whether your product pages are reachable from outside your network, whether AI agents may read them, or what changed on the store today.

What Shipwork does instead

  • Free feed-file check: GTIN, google_product_category, condition, identifier_exists, price and availability.
  • A public-catalogue scan for the data-level reasons products get rejected.
  • Outside-network checks on the store itself: reachability, indexation, structured data.
  • A daily watch that emails you the day a check changes.

Which should you use?

Use DataFeedWatch to build and manage feeds across channels. Use Shipwork to check feed quality and the store itself, free, before and alongside that.

Questions

Is Shipwork a replacement for DataFeedWatch?
No. DataFeedWatch builds and syncs feeds; Shipwork checks them and the store, free.
Does it submit or manage my feed?
No. It reads a feed file you paste and reports problems. It never uploads or submits.
Is it free?
The checks are free and need no account. The daily watch is the paid part.
