What can Shipwork do with the access?

Only read. The grant is read-only, so we can see index status, the canonical Google chose, crawl dates, sitemap errors and the queries a page appears for. We cannot change anything in your Search Console, and we cannot edit your site.

Where is the connection stored?

On our server, in a file only the service account can read, keyed to the account that connected it and to the property. It is never sent to your browser and never exposed through any endpoint.

How do I disconnect it?

Use the disconnect control on this page, which removes the stored token for that property through our server. Disconnecting takes effect immediately. You can also remove Shipwork from your Google account permissions.

Which property type should I choose?

If you verified a Domain property in Search Console, choose Domain property. It covers every subdomain and both protocols. If you verified a URL prefix instead, choose URL prefix and enter the exact prefix you verified, including the scheme.

Do I need to verify the property first?

Yes. Google only lets an account read properties that account already manages, so the property has to be verified in your Search Console before you connect it here.

Everything else here infers how Google treats your site from the outside. Search Console is the one place that tells you what Google actually decided, and connecting it takes one approval.

Connecting needs a free account

Read-only Search Console access belongs to an account so Shipwork can reach the connection again from any device. Sign in with Google, or open your account. Every free check still works without one.

What the grant allows

Read only. Index status, the canonical Google chose, last crawl date, sitemap errors, and the queries the page appears for over 28 days.
No writes. Shipwork cannot change anything in Search Console and cannot edit your site.
Stored server-side. The token lives on our server, keyed to your account and to the property you connect, and is never exposed to the browser or to any endpoint.
Revocable. Disconnect a property from this page, or remove Shipwork from your Google permissions.
