Clean the titles Google disapproves
Paste one title per line. It strips promotional wording and decorative noise, fixes all-caps, front-loads your brand and trims to 150 characters: the title rules Merchant Center actually enforces. Rules, not a model, so a word never changes meaning.
What it fixes, and what it cannot
It fixes the four title rules: promotional wording, gratuitous capitals, a title past 150 characters, and decorative noise. It cannot help with a missing description, a missing brand field, a zero price or a landing page that fails for crawlers. Those are separate rules. Run the feed check for the whole set, and read the promotional-text guide for why Google is strict about this.
Questions
- What exactly does it change?
- Four mechanical rules: it strips promotional wording (SALE, FREE SHIPPING, % OFF), removes decorative noise (!!!, ★, pipes, emoji), fixes titles written entirely in capitals, and trims anything past 150 characters at a word boundary. It does not invent words or rewrite meaning.
- Will this get my products approved?
- No, and nothing can promise that. It removes the title-level rejection reasons. Missing description, price mismatch and landing-page failures are separate rules this cannot touch. Run the feed check for those.
- Should I paste my whole catalogue?
- Yes. One title per line; a template mistake usually repeats across hundreds of products, so the cleaned list is most useful in bulk. Everything stays in your browser.
- Why not use an AI rewriter?
- For these rules, rules are better: a model can drop a word that changes meaning, and it costs a call per title. Promotional text and capitals are deterministic, so removing them should be too.
